Singular Purpose

Charlee's been sick the last several weeks. A couple of days in the hospital with "super infected eczema," a cold, and now an ear infection. I hate it when the kids don't feel well, and I'm unable to make the hurt go away. But the thing I do appreciate about their illnesses is the singular focus it gives me. It's one of the few times anymore that my priorities are super clear. Taking care of them is #1. The gray area that comes with prioritizing normal life is gone. No more "breakfast as a family OR to work early," or  "go to bed at 9:30 OR get a little more work done" or "read one more book OR clean up the kitchen."

Other than being a little sickly, Charlee's growing up. She has her first tooth and rolled over for the first time two weeks ago. She's grabbing for things, including food off the table.  Here are a couple of photos we had taken of her recently.

I'm just glad she's finally starting to feel better. I can't imagine how miserable she must have been.
