Cute Chicks

Our friend, Melissa, is a 1st grade teacher. She had 9 chicken eggs hatch in her classroom over the weekend, and she invited the girls up to see the chicks. They loved it. I was surprised at how gentle they were, especially Squeaks. She kept saying "Chee, chee, chee!" which is short for "Cheep."

'Mon

Squeaks is a character these days. My favorite new thing she says is 'mon, which means "come on." Usually, she's saying this while grabbing your hand and dragging you somewhere she wants to go. A few more pics of Squeaks and her growing personality.

She understands what "cheese" means when you have a camera. She's ready with a smile.

This is her styling with a popsicle. Dad removed her clothes because she REFUSED to wear a bib.

She's got a killer chin-lowered-eye-batting-give-me-what-I-want look.

Mud Pit

The girls enjoyed the nice weather today in our front yard. What started out as watering the plants (very helpful to Mom & Dad), turned into making a mud pit out of a hole Dad recently filled. Reminds me of summer fun with my sisters!

Will the real Easter Bunny please stand up?

Easter 2010:
  • Girls and I buy Easter baskets together on Friday. Bean insists on buying a basket for baby #3
  • Girls carry baskets around all day Saturday, filling them up with things and talking about the Easter bunny
  • Hunting plastic eggs filled with jelly beans and coins
  • Eating jelly beans and the ears off chocolate bunnies
  • Waffles and bacon
  • Squeaks has a fever, takes 3-hour nap from 10-1
  • Bean and I make chocolate cupcakes
  • Bean has a fever. Bean naps from 1-2:30
  • I cook a ham Nana/Opa style
  • I walk down to the neighbors' house for their afternoon Easter meal. Sit under a blooming magnolia tree, 80 degrees, sunny and breezy. Husband stays home with sick kids
  • I come home. Husband walks down to neighbors'.
  • Bean and I watch movies and snuggle on the sofa.
  • It could be worse!

I have my big idea!

Husband and I have been cracking up about one of Bean's latest turns of phrase. "I have my big idea!" She usually says it while holding up one finger and pointing at us. Heard recently:

I have my big idea...
  • I need an M&M.
  • I should have some chocolate ice cream.
  • I'm going to put on my bathing suit and go swimming! (heard when it was finally above 70 here).
  • I'm going to get a really giant giant bed and sleep up high.
  • The easter bunny should come right now.
  • I get to eat 4 bites of my chocolate bunny.
  • Let's make a tent and sleep in it!
For emphasis, she'll say "I have my really really big idea!"
