Day 19 Part 2: Bye Bye 39

On this last day of my 30's,
  • I went to spin class. Burned 450 calories. Rocked out to pop music.
  • I worked from home part of the day to focus on a project that required lots of thinking. I really, really enjoy my job.
  • I went to a client's office for a meeting and walked into a room full of people with an ice cream cake, party hats, and horns. We talked one of our very strong team members into bench pressing a younger, female team member. 6 times. The team dedicated the act to my birthday.**

  • I got a pedicure. Lovely toes. Nuff said.

  • I took Kate and Claire to gymnastics. Seeing them with smiles on their faces for 45 minutes is wonderful.
  • Chad made a pepperoni, bacon, and onion pizza with Kate and Claire. The girls loved participating, and I loved eating. Yum.

Seriously, what a great day.

**Full disclosure: I told both of these circus clowns that if this made them feel uncomfortable, they did not have to participate.

Day 19: And now a word from our sponsor

My sister asked me yesterday "How are you able to go out all the time and workout all the time?"

What she was really asking was "How in the heck did you get your husband to agree, without complaining, to fall so far out of balance in the world of equal parenting?"

Or translated through my I-feel-guilty filter: "How do you get to be so selfish and self indulgent with this birthday thing?"

Answer: My husband is awesome. He rocks. He's a great Dad. He's the sponsor of my 40 days of birthday.

And he's handsome.

Day 18: Tex Mex and Friends

Tex Mex melty cheese goodness. Yum.

Tonight I went to my favorite Mexican restaurant in St. Louis, Pueblo Solis, with several girlfriends. Two women I know well, and two are new friends.

Margaritas + chips + friends = fiesta
